This seminar will provide an update and overview
of the status of contract workers within the context of recent
developments in employment case law.
We will explain the benefits of the different
models of engagement of contract workers and discuss the rights and
protection they are afforded - as well as those which do not extend
to them. Within this, we will provide tips for mitigating any
co-employment risks associated with the use of contract workers,
giving examples from recent judgments. This session will also
address the recent Court of Appeal decision in Muschett v HM Prison
Service. We will be clarifying the position around discrimination
protection provided to contract workers in light of this
decision.
